Pat Wessel talking about African American Contemporary Art
Comparing and contrasting between The Newark Museum and Museum of Modern Arts (MoMA), there are some interesting key points that highlights their best features and persona of each museums. Looking into the newark museums, I found that the museum is more closely link together with the Newark art community. Providing education to children and elders, their purpose is to educate and expand peoples' knowledge about art and science through different ethic art and scientific exhibitions. Each level is designed with a functionality and fluidity that leads into different mini galleries in the space. It is also directly linked to different exhibit such as the African art exhibit and the Contemporary African art exhibit. In addition to many exhibitions and galleries, the Newark Museum provides different workshop that varies in different age groups and different art residency for local artists around the area.

As the Newark Museum has a stronger relationship with their local area, MoMA is more involved with popular work from the Modern Art to Contemporary in the late 1990's. Similar with the Newark Museum, their purpose is to educate people by providing lectures, movies, and interesting events that create an inviting atmosphere to the group of work. They also dedicate a huge section to the education department, where they hold classes and lectures. The designs of the build is functional to provide natural lighting in the space, but it is also not beneficial to install work in certain places due to heat and light damages. Though each galleries do lead into each other, I feel it is often to section off into different degrees of work.

As you enter both museums, you can tell they have a drive to show varies opinions and concept about each exhibitions. They tend to shed a new light on a current theme as well as new ones that can provoke the viewer. For instances, MoMa is recognizing different technology advances are making a huge impact on different designs that are interesting and beautiful days as well beneficial in different aspect. One of the exciting new theme they recognized is video games.
